Founder/Executive Director Shares How His Journey With Entreprenourship During Incarceration Changed His Life, Scaling Previous Businesses Nationally While Still Incarcerated.
Clinton Drummer, Founder of Financial Liberation Training Academy (FLTA), was recently featured on Next Level CEO with Daymond John, spotlighting his leadership and the organization’s growing impact in financial reentry and youth stabilization. Drummer flew to South Beach, Miami for a one-day production shoot, where he shared FLTA’s model of addressing financial triggers that often lead to system involvement and instability. Accompanying him was FLTA Youth Programs Director, Anthony Nickles, who was also interviewed for his leadership and direct work serving justice-impacted youth within juvenile facilities and the foster care system. Together, they represented FLTA’s commitment to equipping young people and returning citizens with the financial tools, structure, and guidance needed to build stable and independent futures.
During the interview, Drummer also shared the deeply personal origins of Financial Liberation Training Academy, reflecting on his own experience growing up in incarceration and the financial instability that shaped many of his early decisions. He spoke candidly about how a lack of financial awareness, structure, and guidance contributed to survival-based choices during his youth, and how discovering financial education became a turning point in rebuilding his life. What began as a personal transformation evolved into a mission-driven organization committed to ensuring that others do not repeat the same patterns. With a clear vision for expansion, housing stabilization, youth economic empowerment, and national impact, Drummer expressed his unwavering passion for the future of Financial Liberation Training Academy and its role in changing the trajectory of system-impacted communities.
