Changing The Dynamics
Of Society
Dedicated To Uplifting Our Community
What Is FLTA?
Financial Liberation Training Academy (FLTA) Is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cycles of poverty, incarceration, and homelessness through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and employment readiness training. We serve justice-involved individuals, youth, and those experiencing housing instability—what we call “The Big Three.” Through powerful workshops, hands-on coaching, and strategic partnerships with prisons, juvenile facilities, and housing organizations, FLTA equips individuals with the tools to understand money, rebuild credit, gain employment, and create long-term stability.

The Power Of
Lived Experience
FLTA directors bring invaluable lived experience to each department, having firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by the three populations we serve. We understand the struggles because we’ve walked in their shoes, and we use that experience to inspire and empower others. Our team’s insight and passion allow us to connect deeply with our participants, creating a lasting impact as we show them the power of business, financial and emotional awareness. By leading by example, FLTA directors demonstrate that change is possible, and we are dedicated to helping individuals transform their lives through education, understanding, and resilience.

Designing Futures
Financial Reentry Training
FLTA provides a powerful 15-week Financial Reentry Training program inside California state prisons and youth facilities, designed to reduce recidivism and homelessness by addressing the root cause—financial instability. This trauma-informed program focuses on credit building as a pathway to stable housing and employment, while covering all core areas of financial literacy including budgeting, saving, banking, emotional spending, and employment preparation. Participants learn to identify financially related triggers that often lead to relapse, while developing the tools and mindset needed for long-term financial wellness. By increasing financial awarenes, FLTA helps justice-involved participants reenter society with confidence, structure, and the financial foundation to succeed.
